Grace is pleased to have been selected for Psappha Ensemble’s ‘Composing For’ Scheme this year. She will work with North-West based harpist, Lauren Scott, to create a piece for solo harp to be filmed in May 2019.

In the year that the RPS Composition Prize for young composers turns 70, the Royal Philharmonic Society has commissioned new works for leading ensembles and festivals across the UK. Grace is honoured to have been awarded a commission to write a new chamber work to be premiered at the Cheltenham Music Festival in 2019.

Grace is very pleased to have been commissioned to write a new work for the London Symphony Orchestra's Community Choir, which consists of 120 mixed-ability singers who make up a diverse cross-section of the local community, to be premiered on Friday 16 November 2018 in a concert themed around remembrance.

In March 2018, the Manchester Renaissance Ensemble recorded their new EP 'Lux Et Tenebræ', which includes Mason's new piece, 'Tenebræ Factæ Sunt', and is now available on Spotify and to download.

Grace is pleased to have been shortlisted for the British Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) World Music Days Festival 2018 in partnership with Sound and Music, for her orchestral work 'KINTSUKUROI: (Golden Repair)'.

Grace is delighted to be announced as the winner of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra's Christopher Brooks Composition Prize.

As part of the New Music North West Festival this year, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra will perform 'KINTSUKUROI: (Golden Repair)' alongside works by other contemporary composers on November 14th, conducted by Mark Heron.

'RIVER' for chamber orchestra recieved three performances in water-themed BBC Proms concerts  in Hull on saturday by the Royal Northern Sinfonia under Nicholas McGegan alongside Handel's 'Water Music' and others.

On monday evening my new work 'RIVER', which was co-commissioned by BBC Radio 4's 'Front Row' programme and the BBC Proms, received it's premiere performance by London Early Opera and conducted by Bridget Cunningham.

Commissioned by award-winning saxophonist, Gillian Blair, 'Amongst The Cinders' for soprano saxophone will be premiered at EurSax 2017 in Porto, Portugal with pianist, David Gibson on the 12th July.

London Festival of Contemporary Church Music (LFCCM) under the direction of Alastair Carey. It was a beautiful concert, which took place in St George's Church, Bloomsbury, and was divided into four parts to reflect the life of Christ.

It has been a rather busy few days! On friday my new piece for big band, '4AM In The Rain', was premiered at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) by their Jazz Collective under the direction of Mike Hall.

Grace is thrilled to have been a selected composer on the LSO Panufnik scheme 2017/18. After the two-day induction, she is excited for the year ahead and to write for the London Symphony Orchestra.

Back in Manchester last week, my new, short piece, 'Blinding, Burning, Lovely,' for soprano voice, piano and string trio was premiered at the Royal Northern College of Music.

It has now been quite a while since my one act chamber opera 'The Yellow Wallpaper', which was commissioned by the Helios Collective, was performed at ENO Lilian Baylis House, London. It was an incredible experience.

Over summer I was delighted to have been busy writing my one act chamber opera entitled ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’, which was commissioned by the Helios Collective as part of their ‘formations’ 2016 events in collaboration with ENO and KCL. I have always loved the short story of the same name by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and I have harboured the wish to turn it into an opera for about 2 years!

On November 1st, my new piece for string quartet and electronics, '..By The Atmosphere Of A Room', was performed as part of the 'Decontamination' concert series. The work was commissioned by Larry Goves, the curator of the series, for a concert inspired by the works of Pierre Boulez and David Bowie. 

On thursday, my new orchestral work 'KINTSUKUROI:(Golden Repair)' received its premiere performance by the RNCM Brand New Orchestra, conducted by the marvellous Manoj Kamps.

Yesterday afternoon my new piece, 'The Rosy Hearth', was premiered in the RNCM Concert Hall, Manchester, by Ranald McCusker (tenor voice) and Elin Rees (piano). It was commissioned by the RNCM for their 'Day of Song' festival, which was a wonderful exploration into composers who were inspired by great poets. The concert, titled 'An Exquisite Hour',featured works that set texts by Paul Verlaine, Charles Baudelaire and Heinrich Heine.
