Celebrate uncovered treasures with the Portsmouth Brass Quintet. From courtly Renaissance dances to modern marvels, their rich sound and dynamic style promise a performance that’s vibrant, versatile, and full of joy. The concert will open with a fanfare by Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Jennifer Higdon. Music by Gabrieli, Bach, and Clara Schumann will lead into the quintet’s performance of Victor Ewald’s Third Quintet. The PBQ is surveying all four of Ewald’s quintets during the 2026 Concert Season. Two new, original works for brass quintet by Grace-Evangeline Mason and Kevin McKee will follow. The program closes with a rousing rendition of the traditional Just a Closer Walk with Thee.
